Jim Ratcliff is the Senior Director for Facilities, Construction and Support Services. He oversees the following operational components of the Lake Travis Independent School District:

Facilities and Construction
Food and Nutrition Services (FANS)
Maintenance and Operations
Transportation

After splitting his college years around a three-year tour as an Army officer that included a visit to scenic South Vietnam, Jim earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin. A native of Austin, Jim has 36 years of experience in the school architecture field, the majority of it spent as a principal with CLR Architects and Engineers in Houston. He served as president of the firm before retiring and joining Lake Travis ISD in 2005.

The mission of the Facilities and Construction Department’s is to provide the necessary planning and coordination of resources to ensure that the students of Lake Travis ISD have world-class educational facilities, when they are needed and where they are needed.

The Department coordinates the planning for bond construction programs—including periodic demographics updates—and oversees contracts with planning and construction professionals.
