Myra Pettit is the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Services. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston and a Masters of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She taught for 11 years and has been an administrator for the past 18 years.
In her current capacity, Myra has oversight for District curriculum, professional development, and instructional materials. Myra also supervises the following departments:
These departments provide direct services to each campus daily including a robust, viable curriculum for teachers, valid and reliable formative assessments to monitor individual student progress, and a systematic intervention process for students. Lake Travis ISD's curriculum and instruction challenges all learners and sets high standards for achievement. Core academic coursework in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies offers innovative opportunities that meet and exceed state and national standards(Instructional Programs for Students). Electives allow students to grow in foreign languages, the arts, the institutes, and many other subjects. Our Gifted and Talented program provides exemplary units of study that both challenge and engage all identified students, both intellectually and creatively.
