BeeCave Elementary (BCE) is rated Recognize by the Texas Education Agency. BCE is a school where everyone is loved, honored and challenged. All individuals are encouraged to be creative, productive, compassionate and successful lifelong learners.
Students at BeeCave study a wide variety of subjects daily. Kindergarten through second grade students use a phonics based program to improve reading, writing and spelling skills. Students in these grades work on decoding words daily. All students may participate in Accelerated Reading and are encouraged to read every day during Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) time and at home. The school curriculum also includes math, science, social studies, health and computer technology. All students have art, music and physical education on a rotating basis. Eligible students have access to special programs such as Content Mastery Classes, Special Education, the Discovery program in Gifted/Talented, English as a Second Language, UIL, the mentoring program, 504 modifications and a leveled reading lab.
Kindergarten students receive a learning profile reflecting the growth of the child in areas of cognitive and social development. Grade 1 students receive a report card measuring language arts, reading, math, science and social studies in the following format: Excellent, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement and Unsatisfactory. Grades 2-5 students receive numerical grades in language arts, reading, math, science and social studies. Letter grades are given to all students in P.E., art, computer and music.
