Brad Lancaster, Ed. D. - Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Brad Lancaster is the Superintendent of the Lake Travis Independent School District, a position he has held since January 2012.
During his tenure at LTISD, the District has experienced both phenomenal growth in student enrollment and success in academic and extracurricular programs. Some of the District’s many accolades occurring during this time include earning the prestigious University Interscholastic League’s Lone Star Cup for team performance in district and state championships during the 2011-2012 school year; increasing the number of National Merit Scholars at Lake Travis High School; recognition by the College Board as a member of the AP District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning Platinum scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams; implementing the LT High5 Award which recognizes staff for outstanding service beyond self; earning a Leadership Circle Award from the Texas State Comptroller’s Office in recognition of the District’s financial transparency; the recognition of Hudson Bend Middle School as a 2014 Texas Schools to Watch for academic excellence; and ensuring that projects contained in the $158.5 million bond program approved by voters in 2011 are completed at or under budget and on time.
Dr. Lancaster has also made significant improvements in fine arts by restructuring the program to better support, guide and coordinate the District’s performing and visual arts programs across kindergarten through twelfth grade. He also helped foster a mutual agreement between LTISD and the Lake Travis Education Foundation that has strengthened the relationship between the two organizations. As a result, LTISD now employs a Director of Development and Corporate Relations who also serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director. Through Dr. Lancaster’s vision and leadership, the District has successfully implemented an advertising program which generates new revenue not subject to state equalization laws.
Dr. Lancaster currently serves on the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium; previously served on the Texas Association of School Administrators’ Legislative Services Committee; the TEA Commissioner’s Cabinet of Superintendents; and is Past President of the Fast Growth Schools Coalition.
He and his wife Karen have two children: Julia, a graduate of Texas A&M University, and Will–who currently attends Texas A&M University.
