American Mathematics Competition (AMC)

3rd Place: Thomas Plaxton9th & 10th graders take the AMC 1011th & 12 graders take the AMC 12
Both contests are 75 minutes long and 25 questions in length and cover all types of mathematical questions.Students may use pencil, eraser, scratch paper, graph paper, ruler, compass and protractor.NO CALCULATORS are permitted.Many colleges and universities request scores from the AMC competition and use them in recruiting and admissions. Each participating school recieves individual school awards and high scores are listed on the AMC website. Students who rank in the top 5% (AMC 12) or 2.5%(AMC 10) nationally will qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME) and top performing students on the AIME go on to compete in the USA Mathematical Olympiad.
