Degrees and Certifications:
Ryan Mikolaycik is the district’s Director of Food and Nutrition Services (FANS). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors, in Hospitality Management from California Polytechnic University at Pomona, California. A native to Southern California, he moved to Texas in 2013 with his wife, Amber and their two children, Ethan and Emily. He started working for the district at that time as the Food Compliance Supervisor.
Most recently, Ryan served as the Assitant Director of FANS, a position he held from 2013 until he moved into the director postion in 2018. During his tenure as assistant director, Ryan helped to improve menu development and food quality within USDA school nutrition guidelines, implement new systems to improve food storage and reduce food waste, and increase overall program efficiency and profitability. Ryan also possesses more than 15 years of work experience in the hospitality management and restaurant industry. Professional highlights include managing multi-chain restaurants and actively participating in the development of new and growing restaurant concepts.
As the district's FANS Director, Mr. Mikolaycik is responsible for managing a $4.5 million operating budget, overseeing 70 employees in 10 cafes, and supervising food service operations throughout the district.
