The School Attendance Zone Advisory Committee will allow for a representative group of parents and community members from across the District to have an opportunity to participate in the development of sustainable recommendations for school attendance zones. LTISD Deputy Superintendent Holly Morris-Kuentz will facilitate the committee's work. Members will serve in an ad hoc capacity to the LTISD Board of Trustees who will make the final decision on attendance zone boundaries.
School attendance zones are slated to be announced by the end of the Spring 2019 semester prior to students leaving for summer break. Middle school attendance zones will be effective to correspond with the opening of Bee Cave Middle School in August 2019 and elementary attendance zones will be effective with the opening of Elementary School No. 7 in August 2020.
In order to provide attendance zone recommendations to the LTISD school board in April for a first reading and in May for a board vote, the following timeline is planned for the committee work and community feedback:
