Jennifer Lyon, Director of Health and Social Emotional Learning, began her career in public education in 1996 as an elementary teacher in Round Rock ISD.  After 5 years of teaching, she became a school counselor and served in that capacity in Austin, Round Rock and Leander ISD's.  Prior to coming to Lake Travis, Ms. Lyon served at the Coordinator for Counseling Service and Social Learning in Leander ISD. She is a multi-year winner of the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) award sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association. The award recognizes school counseling programs who achieve continuous improvement and demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to obtaining results.

 

Ms. Lyon grew up in Austin, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development form Texas Tech University, and a Master of Education degree in Counseling from Texas State University.
