I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal of Lake Pointe Elementary under the incredible leadership of our Principal, Mrs. Kelly Freed. My personal mission in education is to ensure that all students I serve are happy, healthy, and excited to learn. I am passionate about making sure everyone feels welcome and heard at our school.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, a Masters degree in Special Education from the City University of New York at Queens College, and a Masters in Educational Administration degree from Concordia University Texas in Austin.
I spent the first seven years of my career as a Special Education teacher for the New York City Department of Education. In New York, I worked for both Robert F. Kennedy Community High School and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. In June 2015, my wife Monica and I relocated to Austin, Texas to be closer to our family. Upon arriving in Austin, I spent the first four years working at Valley View Elementary in Eanes ISD. Monica works in downtown Austin at Springbox, a digital marketing agency. We have a 14-year-old dog, Canela Belle, who we adopted at Austin Pets Alive and love to pieces.
Here are a few quotes that reflect my educational philosophy:
“Educating the mind without educating the heart, is no education at all.” ―Aristotle
"To understand the heart and mind of a person, look not at what he has already achieved, but at what he aspires to do."― Kahlil Gibran
“All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other.” ― August Wilson
