Norton's Notes - February 10, 2023

  • Bad Weather Makeup Days

    • With area-wide ice accumulations throughout the Texas Hill Country and Greater Austin, Lake Travis schools were closed between January 31 and February 3, thanks to Winter Storm Mara. Aside from downed trees, limbs, and debris, overall damage to District facilities was minimal.

    • LTISD students have two bad weather days already built into the current instructional calendar. However, many area districts are expecting to receive information from TEA regarding how the two additional days will be handled. We will share this information once it is received.

    • The Rough Hollow Elementary School PTO held its monthly meeting today and featured a conversation with Lakeway Mayor Tom Kilgore and me regarding the status of Elementary School #8.

The council is expected to discuss and possibly vote on the development agreement between the City and the District at a special meeting scheduled at 6:30 pm, Monday, February 13 at Lakeway City Hall.
