Norton's Notes - August 18, 2023
-
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!
- As we prepared for the start of school, our teachers, aides, administrative assistants and administrators all participated in engaging and informative staff development.
- We had a great first three days of school.
Anonymous Threat at LTHS
- Earlier today, Friday, August 18, the Lake Travis High School administration was made aware of an anonymous message scribbled inside a boys’ restroom. The message, written in black marker, indicated a shooting will occur on August 28. While we believe this to be nothing more than a hoax, we take this matter seriously. Our Lake Travis ISD police department, along with our LTHS administrative team, are conducting a full investigation to determine who was involved and apply consequences with criminal charges.
- For more information, please refer to the letter which was emailed to all parents Friday afternoon.
Traffic
-
Traffic the first few days of school is always hectic because parents understandably want to drive their child(ren) to school. Over the few days traffic will get into more of a pattern and it will improve.
-
This summer we were able to open Vail Divide to help with traffic around BCMS and BCE. We also were able to work with TxDOT to add a turning lane in front of BCE.
-
The City of Bee Cave has been very helpful in getting these tasks completed. They are also working to extend the school zone in front of BCMS.
Instructional Calendar for 2023-2024 School Year
-
Here is the link to the calendar for this school year. Please note the early release dates as well as student holidays. Three of these early release days allow our instructional staff to participate in Professional Learning Communities which are instrumental to improving the instruction in our classrooms.
-
It is very important for students to attend school so please make sure you have these dates on your calendar.
-
Also note that LTHS Graduation is scheduled for May 24, 2024.
