Teachers and Instructional Support Staff “Learning Together” Feb. 15-16

    • More than 800 teachers and staff have been busy “Learning Together” at the District's annual staff development conference Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16.

    • From that same group, approximately 140 teachers and staff shared their knowledge and expertise with fellow peers, delivering outstanding sessions to support and enhance teaching and learning across our schools.

    • The conference also featured several guest presenters, including The Drum Cafe who opened our event with a highly-energetic, interactive, and fun session on team building and leadership development using drums.

    • In addition to sessions on curriculum, instruction, and technology in the classroom, the conference also provided health and wellness opportunities for our teachers and staff.

    • Watch some of the highlights from this amazing conference on Facebook and Instagram.

    LTHS DECA at State Tournament

    • More than 90 Lake Travis High School students are in Houston this weekend competing at the DECA State Career Development Conference.

    • Overall, this year’s conference is Texas DECA’s largest yet with almost 7,000 attendees.

    • DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the world.

    • After the state conference, qualifying students will prepare to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference scheduled to be held in April in Anaheim, California.

    • We wish these student-leaders, their advisors, and our parent volunteers all the best at state and look forward to recognizing them at a school board meeting later this spring.
