• Thank you for your interest in the LTISD Pre-Kindergarten Program!

    This program is a one-year Kindergarten readiness program for those students preparing for enrollment in Kindergarten the following curriculum year. The program is not available to those students age-eligible for Kindergarten enrollment. Hours follow elementary school hours of 7:40am to 3:00pm, with a lunch meal provided.  Currently the program is $6,000/year broken into 9 equal payments starting with the first payment due in  September and ending with the final payment due in May.


    Pre-kindergarten applications for the 2022/2023 school year will open in the spring of 2022 for children that will be four years of age by September 1, 2022.   

    •   Qualifying student enrollment dates - March 28 2022 thru April 23, 2022.

    •   Tuition-based applications begin April 1, 2022, 10am via online application and are waitlisted in the order they are received.


    Prekindergarten Enrollment Instructions 

    • LTISD 2021-2022 Tuition-Based Pre-Kindergarten Classes

      • The application process is closed for tuition-based spots in LTISD PreK for 2021-2022 school year. 

      • All PreKindergarten classroom spots for 2021-2022 are now full. 

      • Families may still apply for a free qualifying spot in PreKindergarten for 2021-2022 based on income, ESL status, and other qualifiers listed on the applications linked below.

    Qualifying Student Enrollment for School Year 2021-2022
    Pre-Kindergarten families who feel their child could qualify for free Pre-Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year under state guidelines will fill out the form linked below and submit a qualifying PreK application.
    Submit qualifying applications via email to the registrar at your child's zoned elementary campus for Kindergarten-5th Grade.

    Please note feeder patterns for Free Pre-K Qualifiers and applicants are as follows, space permitting:

    • Lake Travis Elementary and Lakeway Elementary attendance zones attend Pre-Kindergarten at Lake Travis Elementary.
    • Serene Hills Elementary, Rough Hollow Elementary, and West Cypress Hills Elementary attendance zones attend Pre-Kindergarten at Serene Hills Elementary. 
    • Lake Pointe Elementary and Bee Cave Elementary attendance zones attend Pre-Kindergarten at Lake Pointe Elementary.

    Research shows that young children’s earliest learning experiences can have powerful long-term effects on their cognitive and emotional development, school achievement, and later life outcomes. The Lake Travis ISD Prekindergarten program provides high-quality early-learning experiences for our youngest students. Prekindergarteners:

    • Develop phonological awareness, letter knowledge, and early writing
    • Understand and use increasingly complex and varied language
    • Develop and demonstrate an appreciation for books
    • Develop math skills
    • Develop social and emotional competence
    • Use language to communicate for a variety of purposes
