Inclement Weather Protocol for LTHS Football at Cavalier Stadium
Prior to Gates Opening at 6:30 pm:
In the event the ThorGuard weather siren is activated due to lightning in the area,
spectators outside Cavalier Stadium should seek immediate shelter in their personal
vehicles. If personal vehicles are not available (ie, spectators arrived by LTISD/Baylor Scott
& White Medical Center Lakeway shuttle), spectators should seek immediate shelter in the
Lake Travis High School cafeteria. Please note, the school cafeteria will only be open if
lightning has been detected in the area.
After Gates Open or During the Game:
In the event the ThorGuard weather siren is activated due to lightning in the area, the
football game will be suspended until an ‘all-clear’ has been received. All spectators should
exit the stadium in a calm and orderly manner. The Lake Travis ISD administration, LTISD
Police, Travis County Sheriff’s Office, and/or Lakeway Police will be on site to assist
spectators. Spectators should attempt to seek immediate shelter in personal vehicles.
If your vehicle is not available or inclement weather prevents access to your vehicle:
- Visiting spectators who parked off-site may go to the Lake Travis High School Cafeteria.
- Home spectators who parked off-site may go to the Lake Travis Cavalier Activity Center.
Once the weather is no longer a threat and the ‘all-clear’ has been received, patrons may
re-enter the stadium and the game will resume. Auxiliary groups such as Cavalettes, Cheer,
and Band can return to their areas inside the LTHS campus or proceed to the Cavalier
Activity Center.
