Chad Crowson

Chad Crowson is the Legal Counsel for Lake Travis ISD.

Chad holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. In addition to his legal qualifications, he earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds certifications as a principal and social studies teacher, demonstrating his deep understanding of both educational policy and classroom instruction.

Most recently, Chad served as General Counsel for Midland ISD where he provided legal advice to district leaders, drafted and negotiated contracts, monitored legislative updates, and guided policy development. His hands-on approach to risk management and compliance ensured that district operations remained aligned with state regulations, protecting the district’s valuable interests, and enhancing operational efficiency.

In addition to his legal career, Chad has extensive experience as an educational leader. In Ector County ISD, he held the role of Executive Director of Choice Programs, Access, and Support  where he spearheaded initiatives to improve access to high-quality, best-fit schools for students. He also has served as a high school principal at Stratford High School in Houston, an assistant principal, and an 8th grade social studies teacher. His leadership has consistently focused on closing achievement gaps and fostering inclusive learning environments.
