Tasha Waters-Barker
Tasha Waters-Barker has over 23 years of experience working as an educator and administrator in small/rural, mid-size/suburban, and large/urban Texas school districts. As the wife of a military veteran, Mrs. Barker has had the opportunity to work in a variety of diverse cultural settings across the state. Most recently, Mrs. Barker served as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Diboll Independent School District. Prior to this, she served as the Director of Curriculum for Lindale ISD. Between 2005-2007, Mrs. Barker was the Director of Elementary Education for Lake Travis ISD. While with Austin ISD, she served in a variety of roles for the district including Academic Supervisor for Elementary Schools, Social Studies Curriculum Specialist, and a campus-level administrator. She also served as an Instructional Specialist in the Teacher Preparation Program of the Region 12 Education Service Center. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Barker was a high school social studies teacher in Killeen, El Paso, and Northside ISDs.
Mrs. Barker holds an Associates of Arts degree from Trinity Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Masters of Educational Administration degree from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor.
She is married to her husband, Dennis, of 29 years and they have one daughter, Miranda, who will be a junior at Texas Tech University.
