Implement inclusive practices that support active participation and learning for all students. Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Collaborate regularly with families, service providers, and general education staff to monitor and support student progress.
Maintain ongoing communication with students and their parents or guardians to build strong partnerships.
Actively participate in grade-level and/or content-area Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
Review student IEPs and clearly communicate accommodations and modifications to ensure consistent and accurate implementation by all staff.
Provide direct support and guidance to instructional assistants to ensure effective classroom practices.
Work alongside general education teachers to adapt assignments and materials; demonstrate effective strategies they can use with students.
Maintain a strong understanding of the district’s curriculum to align instruction with grade-level expectations.
Develop IEPs that are meaningful and measurable, incorporating input from students, families, and staff.
Collect, track, and report data on IEP goals weekly to monitor progress and inform instruction.
Understand and clearly communicate each student’s eligibility category and how it affects learning and instruction.
Share insights about students’ learning styles, strengths, challenges, and present levels with both general education teachers and parents.
Foster student independence by promoting self-determination skills and encouraging active student involvement in their learning and IEP process.
