As the role of Technology in education has progressed from a supplemental component to an essential element of education, LT is committed to reliable technology services for our students. As part of this commitment, in June 2014 the district completed construction of a state-of-the-art Data Center strategically located near our Distribution Center in the heart of the district. The new data center provides many redundancies and is adequately spaced for future growth. These improvements will enable us to continue to meet the growing data and access demands of our district for years to come.
Summer 2014 - Campus upgrades
- In addition to our district-wide data network upgrade, 2012 Bond funds provided for the latest in wireless access (A/C) in a dense wireless coverage model district-wide at each campus in support of more access for our students.
- Google Apps for education is a secure online platform that provides our hybrid cloud offering anytime, anywhere access from almost any device. It brings collaboration with easy of access to enable learning and student improvement anytime, anywhere.
- The District has purchased SMART document cameras for all active classrooms to increase student engagement and enhance learning experiences for all students with or without personal devices bridging the digital divide.
Summer 2014 - LTISD is transforming education with next generation learning solutions to meet the needs of every individual learner:
- Personalized learning requires access to abundant resources. Dell Compellent storage solution provides LTISD with the ability to manage large volumes of data for our internal cloud.
- Our modern data network,with 20GB backbone and 160GB core connectivity, enables our instructional staff to transform learning in our schools. We implemented a redundant, secure, easy-to-access educational network reducing power consumption, reducing capital and operational expenses, and increasing operational effectiveness.
- Today's classrooms increasingly employ on-demand delivery of content and a vast array of interactive technologies that help foster and enhance the learning process. In order to protect technology resources, student data and filter content we have installed next generation redundant firewalls, threat protection, and new filters to offer a safe and effective learning environment
