    Library Services Update

    • An update on our library services was provided to the school board during the February 21 regular meeting.

    • The update included overview of House Bill 900, guidance from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, collection development policies, the informal and formal reconsideration process, library website alignment and refresh, and campus library updates and celebrations.

    • Additional updates will be provided to the board as needed.

    Food Allergy Update

    • Also during the February 21 board meeting, trustees received an update on the district’s Food Allergy Management Plan (FAMP).

    • In accordance with a state law passed in 2011, Board Policy FFAF (LOCAL) requires the district to develop and implement a plan for the care of students with diagnosed food allergies at risk for anaphylaxis.

    • In response, Lake Travis ISD developed and implemented a comprehensive FAMP.

    • While our FAMP has been in place for several years, additional measures will be implemented to best support students and reduce the risk of exposure to common food allergies.

    • Per Board Policy BP (Local), administrative regulations are subject to board review but shall not be adopted by the Board.
