Degrees and Certifications:
Sherry Baker - Principal
I am honored and thrilled to be the principal of Lake Travis Middle School. I have been in public education for more than 20 years. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston and Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. I began my career in education as an eighth grade math teacher at Dean Middle School in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. After six years in the classroom, I assumed my first position in school administration as an assistant principal at Dean Middle School. Over the next 10 years, I served as Director of Instruction—a campus-based administrative position—for two middle schools in the Cy-Fair district. In 2014, I moved to Tomball ISD where I served as an assistant principal at Tomball Memorial High School and then opened a new school in 2015 as Principal of Wildwood Elementary.
LTMS is rich in tradition and has high expectations for students both academically and socially. I look forward to working alongside the staff and community to continue building on the excellence that has been the norm for so many years. Middle school can be both exciting and challenging - for the students and the parents. We choose to work in middle school because we love this age group, and we are here to support you and the students. So, please communicate with your child’s teachers and contact the office if you ever have any questions, concerns or needs. I invite you to be a part of your child’s educational experience--volunteer, join PTO, and attend our student events. Working together is the best way to help our students reach their full potential.
I am looking forward to getting to know the students, and I have no doubt this is going to be an amazing year at LTMS! GO KNIGHTS!
