    Tara Ali - Originally from Illinois, Mrs. Ali and her family moved to Austin in the summer of 2015. In her 12th year of teaching, she lives in the West Cypress Hills neighborhood with her husband and three children: Emma (6th grade), Tyler (4th grade), and Mason (2nd grade). She loves teaching first grade, crafting on her Cricut, and spending time with her friends and family. Mrs. Ali was the West Cypress Hills Teacher of Year in 2017-2018!  Go Tigers!

    Katie Doering - Mrs. Doering is starting her fourth year of teaching. The past three years Mrs. Doering has taught Kindergarten at WCHE and this year she will be joining the 1st grade team. Mrs. Doering moved to Austin nine years ago with her husband, Marc, and her three children, Skyler (6th grade), Tristan (4th grade), and Brooklyn (1st grade). Mrs. Doering loves being outdoors, going to her kids sporting events, all things dogs, photography, and teaching! Go Tigers!!

    Wendy Gorfain – Mrs. Gorfain is originally from the east coast and she loves living in Austin with her husband and three cats away from the cold weather!  She is in her 27th year of teaching and has taught grades 1-4 and was a Reading Specialist for 12 years.  She loves being a WCHE Tiger and is so excited to be back this year teaching grade 1.  Her other passions besides teaching are reading, decorating, doing anything outside and spending time with friends and family.  Go Tigers!!!

    Summer Miller – Mrs. Miller has worked for LTISD for over eight years in various roles. She lives in Spicewood, TX with her husband, two daughters, Morgan and Maddie, three dogs and one cat. She enjoys photography, kayaking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She adores teaching first grade and working with the talented students at WCHE. Go Tigers!

    Becca Wells - Ms. Wells is entering her 12th year teaching! She went to Elon University in NC where she got an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Special Education. Ms. Wells taught second grade five years, kindergarten for six years and this will be her first year teaching first grade. She was the WCHE Teacher of the Year in 2016-2017. Ms. Wells moved to Austin five years ago and it is her favorite place she has lived! For fun Ms. Wells likes to run, bike, hike and hang out with her puppy Tunk!
