District Convenes Budget Advisory Committee

  • Lake Travis ISD, like most school districts across Texas, is facing a significant budget deficit largely due to the lack of additional funding for public education by the Texas Legislature.
  • In an effort to foster collaboration and transparency as we address the district’s financial needs and priorities, the administration has created the Lake Travis ISD Budget Advisory Committee.
  • Comprised of staff, students, parents, and community members, the committee held its inaugural meeting December 9.
  • Members received an overview of school finance, how money is spent, and budget realities, and also engaged in discussions on funding priorities and reduction strategies.
  • Community voice and perspective are critical as we work together to navigate these challenges and find innovative solutions to support the students and staff of Lake Travis ISD.

School Board Approves 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar

  • Our school board approved the 2025-2026 instructional calendar during its regular meeting on Wednesday, December 11.
  • According to the calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year, the first day of school will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025 and the last day of instruction will be Friday, May 22, 2026.
  • Please note, TEA will release its application for Professional Development waivers this spring. Lake Travis ISD will request September 22, 2025 as well as January 6, February 12, and February 13, 2026 to be used as Professional Development for staff (no school for students).
  • The District will also observe October 22 and December 19, 2025, as well as May 22, 2026, as Early Release Days.
  • Additionally, of the two bad weather days required, one has been "banked" and a second is designated on Friday, April 3, 2026 of the board-approved calendar.
  • The 2025-2026 instructional calendar is available on the District website and on each school website (listed under ‘Calendars’).

District Continues Focus on Student Attendance

  • This year, we are placing extra emphasis on student attendance across all grade levels.
  • With Winter Break just around the corner, attendance matters.
  • Studies show that regular daily attendance boosts learning, improves nutrition, and reduces stress, especially at this time of the year.
  • We need our parents to partner with us to make sure students are present and on time every day, including the days prior to the holiday break.
  • Check out the second video in our Attendance Matters series featuring some of our amazing students.
