Lake Travis ISD introduces Google Classroom for students in PreK-5 Grade
We would like to share some exciting news about an important update in our approach to enhancing your child's learning experience. Starting with the 2024-2025 school year, we will transition from Schoology to Google Classroom for all students in PreK through 5th grade.
Why Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is a widely-used and intuitive learning management platform that provides numerous benefits for students, teachers, and parents. We believe this transition will have a positive impact on our school community. We look forward to supporting your student’s experience with Google Classroom.
- Streamlined Communication: Google Classroom centralizes all class materials, assignments, and announcements in one place, making it easier for students to stay organized and for parents to stay informed.
- Accessibility: Students can access Google Classroom from any device with internet connectivity, ensuring they have the tools they need at school and home.
- Collaboration: The platform encourages collaboration through interactive assignments, discussions, and group projects, fostering a more engaging learning environment.
- Support for Diverse Learning Styles: Google Classroom offers various multimedia options for assignments and resources, catering to different learning preferences and needs.
What Does This Mean for You and Your Child?
The best way to familiarize yourself with Google Classroom is to regularly view the platform alongside your student. Families also have the opportunity to receive updates on their student’s progress and upcoming assignments through guardian summaries. These summaries can be sent to your email on a daily or weekly basis. If you are interested in receiving guardian summaries, please contact your student’s teacher.
We are confident that Google Classroom will greatly enhance our student's learning experiences and provide a more cohesive and interactive educational environment. Thank you for your continued support as we make this exciting transition together.
Sincerely,
Chris Woehl
