School Board Approves 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar
The Lake Travis school board approved the 2025-2026 instructional calendar during its regular meeting on Wednesday, December 11.
According to the calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year, the first day of school will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025 and the last day of instruction will be Friday, May 22, 2026. Ending the year in May allows staff and students to meet commitments related to summer school, post-secondary summer studies, and other summer programs which begin in early June.
Please note, TEA will release its application for Professional Development waivers this spring. Lake Travis ISD will request September 22, 2025 as well as January 6, February 12, and February 13, 2026 to be used as Professional Development for staff (no school for students).
The District will also observe October 22 and December 19, 2025, as well as May 22, 2026, as Early Release Days. On those days, students will be released from elementary schools at 11:40 am and secondary campuses at 12:50 pm.
Additionally, of the two bad weather days required, one has been "banked" and a second is designated as Friday, April 3, 2026 of the board-approved calendar.
The 2025-2026 instructional calendar is available on the District website and on each school website (listed under ‘Calendars’) and is also attached at the bottom left of this message.
Sincerely,
Marco Alvarado
