Todd Sumrall named Interim Chief of Police

We are pleased to share that Todd Sumrall has been appointed as our Interim Chief of Police, effective 5:00 pm, Friday, January 10.

With more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, Todd brings a wealth of knowledge in school-based policing, community engagement, and public safety leadership. Most notably, he has been a valued member of our LTISD Police Department since 2021, and in July 2023, Todd was promoted to Police Lieutenant. He has built strong relationships within our district and community, ensuring that trust, communication, and student engagement remain at the forefront of our safety initiatives.

We are actively working to hire a permanent Chief of Police, and we remain committed to strengthening our district’s security measures during this transition. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Todd to his new role as Interim Chief. I am confident he will continue to lead our department with the same commitment to safety and service we have come to expect.

Sincerely,

Pam Sanchez
Acting Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent for Business Services
