September Birthdays
Description
CelebratingBirthdays at School
Senate Bill 42 directs local school districts to provide classroom time for parents who wish to recognize their child’s birthday at school. Each district is asked to determine its own procedure for how and when to allow for the birthday recognition so that valuable instruction time is minimally impacted. We have designated the last 15 minutes of the last Friday in each month be set aside to celebrate all birthdays of that month. Parents may provide cupcakes for the class on that day. For example: September 27th will be the day you may celebrate your child’s September birthday at school, if you choose to do so. We ask that parents coordinate with each other for multiple birthdays in a month. It is our goal for each student to receive one cup cake and one water on the last Friday of the month. Parents are asked to coordinate with the classroom mom on supplying the cupcakes and water and deliver to the front office enough cupcakes for each student to have one, by 9 am. Check with the teacher about food allergies in the classroom.
Guidelines:
This time is set aside for student birthdays only. No other event can be celebrated on this day. Parents need to bring cupcakes only(no ice cream, candy, cookies or cake…). Bottled water may also be served. Please coordinate with any other birthday student so that only one set of cupcakes per class is brought.
