Dear Bee Cave Elementary School Parents and Guardians,
For the past two years, I have had the honor and privilege of serving as principal of this incredible school. During that time, my mother—who currently lives in Tyler—has been battling Multiple Sclerosis, and her health continues to decline. Most recently, my husband Mike has had added job responsibilities in the Houston area. It is an opportunity we believe will further support his professional development.
As many of you can appreciate, my family and their wellbeing is my utmost priority. Decisions which have the potential to impact my loved ones are considered as a family and made as a family. With family as my sole motivating factor, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my resignation as principal, effective June 30, 2019.
This summer, my family—together with my mom—will be moving closer to Houston. This will also allow Mike to be able to go into Houston for work when necessary without extended travel. Please know, this was a very difficult decision but one that I truly believe is in the best interest of my family. I am thankful for the support I have received from our superintendent and senior staff.
My position will be posted today, and I am confident they will soon find the most qualified leader to serve as your next principal.
For nearly 25 years, I have worked in various capacities throughout my career in public education. While I plan to continue working as a school administrator in the Houston area, I will always treasure my time at Lake Travis ISD, and in particular, at Bee Cave Elementary School. Thank you for allowing me to serve you and your family.
