Beginning Tuesday, July 9, Spillman Loop between Ranch Road 620 South and the Lake Travis ISD Administration Building will be closed for construction as part of Phase 1 of the Spillman Loop Redesign Project.
A portion of the center median along Spillman Loop will be removed to create additional capacity, improving overall traffic flow and safety. Specifically, Spillman Loop will be expanded from one to two lanes for incoming traffic and from two to four lanes as motorists exit onto Ranch Road 620 South. The project will add sidewalks and also lengthen the student loading zone along Spillman Loop behind Lake Travis High School.
During Phase 1, visitor parking along the circular drive of the administration building will be temporarily relocated to the unreserved lot adjacent to the administration building (known as the “old band lot”). Please refer to the map for details.
Phase 2 of the project, estimated to begin July 22, will include additional road resurfacing, new sidewalks, and a parking reconfiguration in front of the administration building. The Spillman Loop Redesign Project is scheduled for completion by August 13.
Improvements to Cavalier Drive are scheduled for Summer 2020. The $2.3 million project is funded by the 2012 Bond program.
Motorists are urged to follow all traffic signs and drive with caution. Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.
