District officials received and reviewed approximately 35 applications for the position.
"I believe Mrs. Schaeffer is the best choice for the Lake Travis Elementary School community," continued Dr. Lancaster. "This was an important decision for senior staff and me. I want to thank the members of the interview committee, specifically LTE teachers Bridgette DeLong and Melissa Calderon-Rivas as well as LTE PTA representative Shiann Metheny for their outstanding help throughout this process. Also serving on the committee were Deputy Superintendent Holly Morris-Kuentz, Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Teaching Services Elizabeth Deterra, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resource Services Evalene Murphy, and Lake Pointe Elementary School Principal Kelly Freed. I am very excited about the selection of Mrs. Schaeffer as our new principal and ask our staff and parents to help me welcome her to the Lake Travis ISD family."
A meet-and-greet opportunity between Mrs. Schaeffer and parents will be scheduled in the near future.
