Selection of Interim Principal for Lake Travis High School
July 8, 2021
Lake Travis ISD Superintendent of Schools Paul Norton is pleased to announce the selection of Debbie Garinger as interim principal for Lake Travis High School, effective immediately.
Ms. Garinger is a retired educator with more than 40 years of experience in public education. She is a former elementary school teacher; assistant principal and principal at the elementary, intermediate, and high school levels; and central office administrator. Most recently, Ms. Garinger served as an assistant principal at Hudson Bend Middle School during the 2020-2021 school year. She replaces Gordon Butler who last month accepted an assistant superintendent position at Southlake Carroll ISD.
"Selecting an interim principal at this time provides our campus with immediate leadership and also allows us to competitively seek a permanent position during the April and May hiring window in 2022," Mr. Norton said. "I have every confidence that Ms. Garinger, our administrative team, and the entire Lake Travis High School faculty will do everything possible to best support our staff, students, and families throughout the coming school year."
