District shares information about parent access to student grades, progress reports, and report cards
September 1, 2023
We hope your children have experienced a great start to the school year! As partners in education, we want to take a moment to emphasize the significance of staying engaged and informed about your child's academic journey. One essential tool we provide to facilitate this connection is our Skyward Family Access platform.
At Lake Travis ISD, we believe that a child's education is a shared responsibility between our schools and our parents. Parent involvement in a child's learning process plays a crucial role in their overall development and success. Student grades, progress reports, and report cards are accessible through our secure, online portal. These tools are designed to keep you updated about your child's academic achievements, areas of improvement, and his/her overall growth throughout the academic year. Please note, this is the first year grades 3-5 will receive progress reports, in addition to the 9-week report cards.
Here are a few reasons why regularly logging in to Skyward Family Access or signing up for automated notifications to monitor your child's academic progress is important:
- Real-Time Insight: The progress report provides you with real-time information about your child's academic performance. By staying informed, you can address any challenges or concerns promptly and celebrate achievements together.
- Targeted Support: Identifying areas where your child might need additional support becomes easier when you have access to his/her grades and progress. This allows you to work with teachers to develop strategies that can enhance your child's learning experience.
- Open Communication: Regularly reviewing your child's academic progress encourages open communication between you, your child, and his/her teachers. It fosters a collaborative environment where everyone is focused on the student's success.
- Motivation: Celebrating even small accomplishments can boost your child's confidence and motivation. Acknowledging their progress encourages them to strive for excellence.
Accessing your child's progress reports and digital report cards is simple. Please follow these instructions to access this important information. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions, feel free to reach out to your campus registrar for assistance.
Please refer to the attached chart at the bottom left of this email for the specific dates when Progress Reports and Report Cards will be published for parents. We appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to a successful academic year ahead.
