Update on Highland Lakes High School

While plans for the construction of Highland Lakes High School continue to move forward, Travis County’s permitting process has not progressed as anticipated. As a result, the district is adjusting timelines accordingly to ensure a smooth and successful school opening.

As the project advances, several key steps remain ahead, including attendance rezoning; coordinating the student-led selection of a mascot and logo; and transitioning staff and equipment between Lake Travis High School and Highland Lakes High School.

Together, these efforts will lay the groundwork for a strong opening and a well-supported start for students and staff.
